I combine the naturally tanned reindeer leather with wool in different forms – as hand-printed motifs using screen technique, and/or embroidery sewn by hand or machine. I often use several colours in a wool print, which gives exciting – sometimes unexpected – colour transitions and effects. The ptarmigan and the Northern Lights are recurring motifs. Key pouches, mobile phone bags, handbags, and shoulder bags – these are examples of my products.
Handprint on wool fabric in screen printing technique. The printed fabric is used for the shoulder bag "Stockholm".
The city of Kiruna is the inspiration for many of my wool prints. The ptarmigan, or ”Giron” in Sami, has a special significance for Kiruna as it has given the city its name. Beautiful, award-winning buildings such as Kiruna Church and Kiruna's Old Town Hall.
As a result of mining, the city of Kiruna is changing. The city center is moving east, some houses are being moved, others are being demolished and new construction is underway.
Mobile phone bag "Bye-Bye"
The urban transformation is ongoing in Kiruna and soon it is time to say goodbye to the characteristic houses in the block "Ortdrivaren" that were designed by architect Ralph Erskin in the 1950s and were completed in 1965.
During the production I have reused materials, both reindeer skin and wool prints from my own studio. It became mobile phone bags with the block embroidered on machine over a northern lights sky.

This shoulder bag called "Gustaf" is inspired by Gustaf Stråhlbergs painting. It´s made in hand-printed wool and in reindeer skin.
Gustaf Stråhlberg (1794-1858) was a master of folkart painting in the Torne valley style. The richly decorated cupboard-bed is a fine example of his painting art. The cupboard- bed is available at Martingården, Nybyn in Överkalix.
